Zebrawood or sometimes "Zebrano" is one of the most striking woods in existence. It's striped colors give it it's obvious nickname. There are a multitude of botanical names and most disagree with each other. It is from the Western half of Africa. The wood is hard and heavy, suitable for flooring (as in the Prada New York flagship store). The grain is coarse and can tear when milled. That said, it can still be turned into veneers and moldings for special projects. It was a long time favorite for car dashes in Mercedes and more recent Cadillacs.
